Data protection

Data Protection is important to us

We handle e-mails efficiently and securely. All outgoing mails are automatically signed with S/MIME.

This digital signature is an electronic seal and a component of a digital certificate. With the digital signature, the authenticity of information can be verified. Digital certificates are a sort of personal identity card for the digital world. The digital signature prevents alteration of data and ensures the sender of the e-mail can be identified without a doubt.

Encrypted e-mails:
We encyrpt sensitive information when we send it. If you receive an encrypted e-mail from us, please proceed as follows:

You can read the message by opening the attached file in an Internet browser (e.g. Internet Explorer) and entering the corresponding password. Depending on file size and connection speed, it may take a while before the log-in window is displayed.

If this is the first encrypted e-mail you've received from us, you can select your own password and change it as you like. You'll always open future encyrpted e-mails with the same password.

You've already received a password but forgotten it? Please contact the sender of the e-mail.

If you answer the encrypted e-mail in the Internet browser, your message will also be sent back encrypted.

Data protection applies to mobile numbers too

  • We perform the SMS service on behalf of the organiser. Financing is usually provided by a sponsor. The service is free of charge for the athletes.
  • We register and save the mobile numbers only on our IT platform.
  • The mobile numbers are never passed on either to the organiser or the sponsor.
  • The numbers are used to deliver welcome, information and congratulation SMS in connection with the event.
  • Typically, information is sent about start times, weather predictions, transit times, finishing times, rankings, notices about TV reports.
  • Advertising SMS are never sent. Only the sponsor is mentioned in the SMS text.
  • After the event the mobile numbers are archived; this is for legal reasons of traceability. In no case are they passed on to third parties or otherwise used.
