3° Rosengarten Schlern Sky Marathon Saturday, 13th July 2019

The “Sky Marathon Rosengarten Schlern” is a 45 km marathon run in alpine terrain with 2.980 m of up hill. There is also a shorter course of 36 km, with 1.908 m of up hill. The start is in Tiers – Saint Cyprian at 1.100 m. The marathon goes around the Rosengarten massive; it reaches the Schlern plateau and the Tschafon Mountain and ends back in Tiers. The short course reaches the highest peak, the Grasleiten pass, and then it proceeds downwards to the Tschamin valley until the village of Tiers.

It is a typical mountain run; the name “sky marathon” depicts the length and its characteristic mountainous terrain. The highest peak is the Grasleiten pass with 2.601 m. The site, in the middle of the Dolomites, UNESCO world heritage, offers a unique backdrop for athletes interested in extreme running races.
