The running course leads around the idyllic Eschenberg, over long stretches through cool forest on pleasant natural roads, a nature experience! 

Besides the marathon and half marathon for the very well trained, the Winterthur Marathon also offers competitions for the less experienced, children and walkers. The distances to be run range from 600 m for the children's run, over 5 km to the marathon distance. 

The marathon relay is certainly a group experience as well.
