Swiss Runners

The Swiss Runners association was founded in 1994 and promotes the sport of running in Switzerland as an independent organisation. The association supports 42 running events, including 16 of the top 20 in Switzerland.

Free outward and return journeys during the pandemic too

Since 2017, the starting fee has included the outward and return journeys to 18 running events on public transport from anywhere in Switzerland. Thanks to the collaboration between SBB RailAway and Swiss Runners, the Swiss Runners Ticket allows you to travel free of charge to different running events. 

During the pandemic, savings are being made everywhere. The question is whether the Swiss Runners Ticket is also available during this exceptional period. You will be delighted to learn that the answer is «yes»:

For runs that are taking place where the free outward and return journeys apply, you can still print out the public transport ticket yourself and travel after registering for the run. Up to 2022, you will continue to benefit from this environmentally friendly offer which is unique in the world.

How you contribute to climate protection

Swiss Runners members are thus demonstrating their continued commitment to making events that are as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible. In terms of the total CO2 emissions for an event, transport accounts for the largest share. The free Swiss Runners Ticket contributes to the further reduction of CO2 emissions.
