Get motivated for winter training – with the running.COACH Silver subscription

Let running experts assist you with your training plan for the 2020 running season: the running.COACH Silver subscription is available at the Bronze price until 04/11/2019.

Winter training is like Brussels sprouts, you like it, or you don't. Indifference is somewhat rare. The big difference, however, is that with a couple of tricks, you can organise your winter training in such a way that it no longer feels like a pebble in your running shoe or is even more fun than it already is.

Set goals

Pursuing a set goal is a great help. Do you want to compete in your first marathon next season? Run the half marathon in under two hours? Take part in a mountain run for the first time? Or simply run to achieve good balance in your everyday life? The set goal will help you mount your headlamp on a cold and wet evening and put your weaker self in its place.

Training plans

Once you have set your goal, you need to ask the following question: How do I get there? The training plan from running.COACH can be a big help here. The logic behind the plans was developed in cooperation with running stars Viktor Röthlin, Paula Radcliffe, Sabrina Mockenhaupt, and Frank Shorter, and has been continuously improved over the past nine years.

After you have stored your goals in the settings (including any possible preparatory competitions) and have defined the desired training days, you will receive a training plan based on your current level of performance. Thanks to the specifications pertaining to pace, training duration, distance, heart rate zones, and form of training, you can always assume that you will be doing the correct unit at the right time.

Incorporated training progress

When it comes to improving your fitness level and training distance, the plan specifically focuses on your target competition and simultaneously integrates your preparatory competitions into the training program. What’s more, your training progress dynamically affects the plan. At running.COACH, various watch models or tracking services (including Garmin, Suunto, Polar, FitBit, Strava, etc.) can also be connected to your personal account. The data is then automatically synchronised with the program and your training progress is reviewed. running.COACH thus has the possibility to propose adjustments to keep you on track with your goal.

Other dynamic functions such as the creation of a rehabilitation plan after injury/illness, the adjustment of heart rate values, or the possibility to record the number of running kilometres for your shoes are also part of the basic plan.

Personal support and advice

Between setting your goal and reaching the finishing line of your planned run, questions arise time and again: which preparatory competitions make sense with regard to the target competition? How should I tactically approach my target competition? Which strengthening exercises are useful, and to what extent? What should I bear in mind after an injury to ensure the rehabilitation time is as efficient and risk-free as possible?

With the Silver subscription, running.COACH also offers the possibility to ask a competent team of experts two running-specific questions a month, which they will answer within one working day. This makes the individually designed training plan even more personal, enabling you to clear up any uncertainties at an early stage.
