Trail Running: the Engadin, an Events Mecca
A diverse trail network starting at 1,800 metres takes you over rocks, through forests and along mountain lakes to over 3,000 metres. You soon reach the tree line and can enjoy the panoramic views over the Engadin lake plateau. Hobby runners and professional athletes may use the altitude and ideal climate for optimal training success. Top events make for an exciting competitive atmosphere.

Engadin St. Moritz Ultraks
The Ultraks trail running series route through the Engadin has caught the attention of the international running community. Three categories and a vertical course commence in Pontresina and take you into the spectacular Piz Corvatsch mountain area. The "Grand Conquerors" face a challenge of 3,019 vertical metres.

SWISSALPINE IRONTRAIL
Light-footed trail runners and hikers scale the heights with great views of the Engadin mountain scenery. The programme includes 12 competitions, with the crowning event being the night run with the sunrise included. Finishers receive qualification points for the UTMB® 2019.

Trailrunning Workshop Samedan
What is trail running? At the Salomon workshop in Samedan learn tips and tricks directly from the experts. Discover, with others, the finest trails in the Engadin as part of the Swissalpine High Seven Week. The workshops for each level are held under the expert guidance of running coaches.

Vertical Summer Run
Time to go vertical! Keen runners cover 1,000 altitude metres over 5.5 km in this race from St. Moritz and over the World Ski Championship route to the Free Fall, at 2,836 metres. With its 100% incline, the Free Fall is the world’s steepest downhill start – with ski racers accelerating up to 140 km/h within 6 seconds.
