SwissCityMarathon - Lucerne

On Marathon Sunday a free ship shuttle circulates between the KKL Luzern and the Swiss Museum of Transport. This service is offered in the period from 06:30am to 05:00pm.

Race numbers must be picked up at the expo prior to the race day or at the pick-up station on sunday morning. There is no expo on sunday. Please be aware to arrive early enough, if you want to pick up the number at race day. We kindly request you to get your race number prior to sunday.

Expo at Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern (friday/saturday only): 5min walk along the lake from the main station lucerne to the Hotel. Just pass the main bridge which connects the new town (main station) with the old town (Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern).

Number pick-up station at the Swiss Museum of Transport (sunday only): The easiest way is to catch one of the free shuttle boats from the landing stage nr. 5 which are running continuously all day between the main station and the finish area at the Museum. Anohter possibility is to take either the train "S3" or "VAE" from "Lucerne" to "Luzern Verkehrshaus". Last but not least it is a marvellous 30min walk along the lake from the main station to the Museum.

Number pick-up station at Horw (sunday only / only for 10k): The easiest way is to catch the train "S4" or "S5" from "Lucerne" to the station "Horw". Antoher possibility is to take the bus nr. 20 from "Lucerne" to "Horw" as well. From there follow the signs to the pick-up station and changing rooms.

Please allow enough time for your arrival and individual preparation before the race. You will not travel alone at this weekend.

Arrival to the start
Start Marathon / Halfmarathon / DuoMarathon
The easiest way is to take the free shuttle ship from Lucerne main station (bridge 5). The shuttle ships operate all day long between Lucerne and the Swiss Museum of Transport. Alternatively, you can take the train "S3" or "Voralpenexpress (VAE)" to the station "Luzern Verkehrshaus". Last but not least, the Swiss Museum of Transport can also be reached by foot from Lucerne main station within 30 minutes - taking a wonderful walk along Lake Lucerne.

Start 10k in Horw
The easiest way is to take the train "S4" or "S5" from Lucerne main station to Horw. Alternatively, you can also catch the bus no. 20 from Lucerne main station. The starting area is signposted from Horw railway station and can be reached within a few minutes.

Changing rooms and Showers
The changing rooms and showers are located in the Sportcenter Würzenbach (Kreuzbuchstrasse 42, 6006 Lucerne) for women. For men it is located at the School Würzenbach (Kreuzbuchstrasse 60, 6006 Lucerne) - only 100m away from the Sportcenter Würzenbach and close to the finishing area.

10k participants can change at the changing rooms in the "Horwerhalle" (Allmendstrasse 16A, 6048 Horw) in Horw. One piece of luggage per participant can be transported to the changing rooms at the finish with the bag transport (see below).

Clothes and bags
Clothes, who are left behind deliberately at the start, will be collected and handed over to a clothing drive. Bags can be left at the changing rooms. The chaning rooms are not guarded. It is not allowed to leave bags at the Swiss Museum of Transport.

Valuables custody service
At the male and female changing rooms, there are guarded custody services for valuables such as wallet, smartphone, etc. Bags or clothes will not be accepted.

Bag drop and bag transport for 10k runners
One bag per 10k participant can be dropped at a special desk next to the changing rooms in the gym "Horwerhalle" at Horw. Please use the voucher attached to your start number to mark your bag independantly. The bags will be transported to the changing rooms near the finish area in Lucerne. The changing rooms are located either for women at the Sportcenter Würzenbach or for men at the School Würzenbach. To get back your bag at the Sportcenter (women) or School (men) you have to show your start number.

After your registration you will get a mail with two promocodes for your tickets. One ticket is for your journey from every trainstation in switzerland to lucerne and one will be for your journey home to every trainstation in switzerland. The ticket for your journey home is only valid together with the race number. The ticket is for a second class ticket and is valid from october 23 to october 27 for the trip to lucerne and valid from october 27 to october 31 for your journey home. The journey to the SwissCityMarathon by public transport is urgently recommended. The organizer does not offer parking spaces for private vehicles.
