WHY ARE THESE CHANGES BEING MADE?

The aim is clear: greater safety and a more manageable flow of participants throughout the entire course. The extended start interval of 15 seconds increases the gap between each starting pair, spreading participants out more evenly along the course. This also extends the overall duration of the event.

Combining clearly defined race sections with non-race sections allows racing and regular skiing to be coordinated as effectively as possible. This flexible approach means that the race sections can be determined each year according to the specific safety requirements, operational needs and course conditions.
