Marcialonga is an international cross-country ski race held annually the last Sunday of January in the Fiemme and Fassa valleys in Trentino, Italy. It starts in Moena and finishes in Cavalese after 70km, with a shorter 45km option ending in Predazzo called “Marcialonga Light”.
The event attracts thousands of skiers from around the world since 1971 and is known for its magic atmosphere because the route passes through enchanted landscapes and villages packed with festive spectators.
Marcialonga offers a rich program with many purposes for each age group: Marcialonga Baby for babies up to 6 years old, Minimarcialonga for kids from 6 to 12 years old and Marcialonga Young for children up to 16 years old.
The best-known side event is the Marcialonga Story, a fascinating celebration of cross-country skiing in the 1970s.
In addition there is the Marcialonga Stars, a charity event supporting cancer research.
