Technique

When it comes to recovering as quickly as possible, focus on tanking up your fluid and carbohydrate reserves. This should be the case if you train on two consecutive days, for example. 
However, if the focus is on longer-term training adaptations, then you also need to focus on repairing and/or building up your muscles. In this case, it is advisable to eat protein-rich foods regularly throughout the day. 
Replenishing your carbohydrate reserves and feeding your muscles with protein immediately after training is particularly important. The easiest way to do this is to drink a recovery shake or eat a bar.
