He is one of the most charismatic figures in professional cycling: Julian Alaphilippe, 32, captivates with his aggressive racing style, unpredictability, and undeniable fighting spirit. And as of this year, the two-time world champion rides for the Swiss team Tudor Pro Cycling Team.

Goals for 2025

Naturally, the next big goal is the Tour de France. A legendary race that represents the pinnacle of a career and is a huge source of motivation for me, both for what it stands for and the emotions it evokes. I still want to experience great moments there.

Tudor Pro Cycling Team

I’m now part of the Tudor Pro Cycling Team, a young but extremely ambitious team where I truly feel good, fulfilled, and surrounded by people who share the same values of hard work and passion as I do.

Main Differences from Quickstep

They are obviously two different structures, with distinct histories and operations, but in both cases I found a very high level of professionalism, each with its own team culture.

Evolution of cycling

What strikes me most today is how young riders already arrive very professionally prepared. Much more than we did back then. Even at the junior level, the standard among the world’s best is incredibly high. I’d say that’s the biggest change since I entered the professional world.

My Strength

What most characterizes me on the bike is probably my punch. That ability to make a difference in explosive moments, where you have to give everything in just a few minutes.

My Weakness

My weakness? I’d rather keep that to myself. Everyone has their limits, but what matters is knowing how to manage them and working every day to push past them.

Tour de France

The Tour de France really stands apart. It’s the most prestigious, most followed race. The one every rider dreams about since childhood. It’s the biggest race in the world, where emotions are amplified and every day can become a historic moment.

Favorite Race

Of all the races on the calendar, I have a real soft spot for the Strade Bianche. It’s a unique event: demanding, spectacular, and full of character.

Race I’d Most Like to Win

Liège–Bastogne–Liège is a race I’ve dreamed about for a long time, and it’s clearly the one I’d most like to add to my palmarès. It’s prestigious, historic, and well-suited to my profile.

Watt Measurement

During races, I don’t focus too much on the numbers. I prefer to race based on feeling and instinct. That’s when I feel most in tune with my effort.

Heart Rate Monitoring

I mostly use heart rate during altitude training camps or in preparation phases, but once in a race, it’s my sensations that serve as my main guide.

Perceived Effort Evaluation

Cycling is such a physically and mentally demanding sport that you constantly have to dig deep inside yourself to find the strength to go beyond your limits, day after day.

Aero vs. Lightweight?

Today, you need to be able to balance between aerodynamics and lightness to find the optimal blend for maximum efficiency.

Key to Success

There’s no magic formula in this sport. The key to success lies in a combination of small details, huge personal commitment, and constant teamwork. And when everything aligns, that’s when the magic happens.

Insider tip

If I had one piece of advice, it would be to always try to take something positive from every situation, even when things are tough. Because it’s often in adversity that we learn the most.
