26 kilometers lie between the start of the Glacier 3000 Run in the Promenade Gstaad (1,050 meters) and the finish on the Glacier 3000 (2,950 meters). Those taking part in the run need to be in exceptionally good physical condition. The only run over a glacier takes place every year in August. The terrain - from asphalt to forest and meadow paths to ice and snow in high alpine terrain - offers a lot of variety, but also demands a lot from experienced athletes. The Glacier 3000 Run has established itself in the running calendar and boasts a broad field of international runners. At the same time, children also compete in the Gstaad Kids Run in the promenade of Gstaad.
