The power of the Großglockner and the silence of the mountains. Grossglockner ULTRA-TRAIL – the trail run on the “Glocknerrunde” with 110 km and 6,500 m climb around the highest mountain in Austria: It is Friday, July 29, shortly before 10 p.m. in Kaprun. Our eyes turn towards the main ridge of the Austrian Alps where the glaciers of the Kitzsteinhorn shimmer gently in the moonlight. Our unique adventure in the heart of the Austrian Alps starts right now. Mostly on single trails we cross the Alps twice, over clear mountain creeks and along the 14 glaciers through the beautiful high alpine landscape of the National Park Hohe Tauern. The trails run through 3 federal provinces, 7 valleys and 6 villages, passing 14 glaciers and 300 peaks over 3,000m all around.

You may also experience parts of this adventure on Osttirol Trail (OTT 80), Großglockner Trail (GGT 55), Weissee Geltscherwelt Trail (GWT 35) or Kaprun Scenic Trail (KST 15). Our trail heros of tomorrow may take the challenge Mini GGUT in Kals am Grossglockner.

In 2024, the GGUT will again be a get-together of top international runners and around 2000 runners from more than 40 nations. An unforgettable experience and a nice trail weekend for everyone is guaranteed.
